About the Journal
TEPIAN is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal that presents scientific research in various fields of information technology and computer science. The journal aims to publish original research studies that contribute to advancements in computer science and information technology. TEPIAN encompasses the full spectrum of information technology and computer science, including Information System, Hardware Technology, Intelligent System, Multimedia Applications, Smart Farming, and Education Technology. In addition to these core areas, TEPIAN also welcomes research on emerging interdisciplinary topics that intersect with information technology and computer science. The journal accepts original research papers, review articles, and commentaries.
TEPIAN is a journal published by the Software Engineering Department, Agriculture Polytechnic of Samarinda, supported by the Association of Higher Education on Informatics and Computer (APTIKOM) East Kalimantan (MOU: 101/Aptikom-Journal/2022). With an editorial team that includes experts from Indonesia and Malaysia, and a review panel featuring scholars from Poland, China, and Indonesia, TEPIAN is committed to maintaining high-quality research standards while fostering regional and global academic collaboration. The journal has also published manuscripts from international authors, further reinforcing its dedication to global knowledge exchange.

Open Access Policy
TEPIAN is published Open Access under a Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 license. Authors retain full copyright. For more information see the copyright section below. Articles are published immediately upon the final corrections of the master proof having been made. All articles are assigned a DOI number (Digital Object Identifier). TEPIAN is accessible via the journal’s website at http://e-journal.politanisamarinda.ac.id/index.php/tepian as well as via international search engines such as SINTA, Garuda, Google Scholar, etc.
Revenue Sources
TEPIAN is funded from author-paid Article Processing Charges (APC) and the Administration of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) of the Agriculture Polytechnic of Samarinda.
Advertising and Direct Marketing Policy
TEPIAN is committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints, or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, TEPIAN and its Editorial Board assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful and necessary. TEPIAN utilizes direct marketing activities. The price per copy is IDR 50.000,- ($3.24) (excluding shipping costs).
Archiving Policy
TEPIAN utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. In addition, all files will be archived with PubMed Central (PMC), CLOCKSS, and Portico.
Repository Policy
TEPIAN supports open access and the dissemination of scholarly research to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing. Authors are permitted to archive pre-prints of their manuscripts, and they are encouraged to deposit the accepted version of their articles. Additionally, authors may share the publisher’s version/PDF of their manuscripts in repositories and on personal websites. This policy also includes repository archiving permissions for published articles under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license, while ensuring that authors retain the copyright to their work.
Plagiarism Policy
The TEPIAN Editorial board recognizes that plagiarism is not acceptable and therefore establishes the following policy stating specific actions (penalties) when plagiarism is identified in an article that is submitted for publication in TEPIAN .
All the manuscripts will be subjected to pre-screening of plagiarism check by using Turnitin Software. The screening process will be conducted by Editor once the manuscript is received (More detail).
Data Sharing and Reproducibility Policy
TEPIAN is committed to supporting transparency and research integrity, following the principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors are encouraged to share research data, particularly datasets that support their findings.
